Manufacturing in the Age of COVID-19

With today’s announcement of Governor Gretchen Whitmer's Executive Order directing Michigan residents to shelter in place and requiring the closure of many businesses across the state, the COVID-19 pandemic has entered a new phase of intensity.

It is vital at this point for manufacturers to be aware of the specific provisions of the Governor’s Executive Order, which you can read here, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Memorandum on Critical Infrastructure, which you can read here. Taken together, these two documents provide important guidance to Michigan manufacturers as they make critical decisions about whether or not they are permitted to continue operating. As CAMC receives additional information clarifying the closure requirements, as well as other information of interest to manufacturing employers and employees, we will post it to our COVID-19 Resources page.

Also to note, all CAMC meetings are suspended until further notice. We are working to develop virtual solutions that will allow us to offer valuable information to our members via an online platform. Please visit our Events page to see our updated calendar of events and to RSVP for future meetings. We will keep our members updated regarding the status of these meetings as we move forward.

In this challenging and unprecedented time, we at CAMC extend our best wishes to our members and their employees, our strategic partners and allies, and all of your families as we all grapple with the challenges and the inevitable economic disruptions that are unfolding in real-time. Be safe and well.
