The CAMC 2019 Annual Dinner & Awards Celebration, held at MSU's Kellogg Center, was a terrific success! Attendees enjoyed networking with their peers in the manufacturing sector, as well as education providers and workforce development practitioners who are working to create a robust talent pipeline for area manufacturers. CAMC was proud to host the robotics teams from Waverly, Mason and Stockbridge high schools at this year's event. The students showed off their amazing engineering skills and even let some of the dinner attendees drive their robots! It was a tremendous display of the young people's ingenuity and craftsmanship. The dinner also featured a lively discussion centered on the Capital Region's Talent Revolution. So much is happening in this space, from structural changes in our local school curricula, to new investments in our skilled trades training facilities, to new initiatives designed to accelerate the development of a robust talent pipeline, including the Marshall Plan for Talent, MI Bright Future and the upcoming MI CareerQuest event. The panel was an informative conversation that touched on all of these key areas. In 2019 CAMC will continue to focus on ways we can facilitate links between our manufacturing members and key partners in talent development.
