Defense Manufacturing Assistance Program
Has your company been impacted by the downturn of defense manufacturing needs?  If so, you might be interested in this program.  The Defense Manufacturing Assistance Program (LINK) was created to serve companies and communities that have been impacted by the defense draw-down through diversification based on commercialization of technology and intellectual property residing in colleges and universities. Who qualifies:

  • Small to Medium-sized Defense Prime contractor
  • 5% reduction in Sales, Production or Employment
  • Loss of major product line
  • Engagement of top management

Work Opportunity Tax Credit
The federal legislature has extended the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) until August 31, 2018. Employers are encouraged to add this WOTC form to their new hire packets for every new hire. When the person they hire qualifies and the company turns in the paperwork before the deadline, the company gets a tax credit!  WOTC can reduce an employer’s federal income tax liability by as much as $9,600 per employee hired.
