Vision

The Capital Area Manufacturing Council is a community of manufacturers, associates and partners seeking to improve mid-Michigan’s manufacturing competitiveness and to enhance the success of area manufacturers. 

Mission

Our mission is to provide a forum where firms come together and exchange information and knowledge to address common issues.  In addition to manufacturers, associate members and partners interested in advancing the manufacturing tradition of the capital area participate in activities supportive of manufacturing.  

Focus

The council’s information and knowledge-exchange priorities are consistent with current practices of “continuous improvement” and “lean manufacturing”:

People, including employee selection, training, leadership and team concepts;

Health and Safety, focusing on practices that contribute to a healthy, injury-free workplace;

Quality, producing at world-class standards consistent with internationally recognized quality management systems;

Responsiveness, encompassing factors such as just-in-time material delivery systems;

Environment, focusing on practices that protect our environment, including

recycling and reuse programs; and

Cost, focusing on the elimination of the major categories of waste.
